Yesterday I did a shadow work journey (the 👉 youtube link goes into the story more) where I had to go back and retrieve a part of my soul. In my work we call these soul fractals, it’s what happens when you experience little T or Big T trauma. Well, I went into my childhood and realized how much pain I was holding in my shadow when it came to my music dreams because of my father who at every opportunity would find a reason or excuse to tear me away from music and try to convince that it was never meant for me. He wanted me to be a spiritual advisor/mentor he believed this was my destiny or fate.
I had to comfort and soothe my inner child and tell her that her dreams are valid and still possible. I was crying as I put back this beautiful big Ruby rock inside of me. This Ruby looking rock was a soul fractal. Even though I cried this was a very healing experience! I got to retrieve a part of me that had been missing for so long now. This is the type of work I do and the type of healing I want to bring to my clients.
Now This Ruby looking rock was the soul piece that had been broken off from so many times having been ripped way from my dream because of my father or life just getting hectic and therefore making it impossible for me to just sit down and make music. All this to say that my dad was both wrong and right. I am meant to create music and I am also meant to be a priestess. But what I also learned during the journey was that I need to start making time for creating music again. Even if I just start with gentle vocal warm ups and some small piano practice.
Music is a big part of my soul and I can never and should never let it go.
